My mother’s day gift to myself gets delivered tomorrow.  Well, maybe I should say installed.  It’s a water spigot on the side of the house where my patio is and I am super excited to see the plumber come and make this little dream a reality – I’ve been wanting this for years.
Hoses are a garden necessity but they are a nuisance and having to haul them all the way around the house is something I’ve come to see as torture (both to me and to the plants that I inevitably decimate along the way).
But what is really exciting is that now I can plant a proper container collection for my patio (because I can painlessly water it!!!).
I have lots of plans and as I finish off this patio project I hope you will follow along with the makeover, but smell is a planting priority.  I’ve sorted a few varieties in my color scheme (deep exotic reds and purples with some white and chartreuse to set it off) that will perfume the whole area.
The Alyssum and the Dianthus are a sweet floral smell but the Angelonia has the fragrance of grape juice!  I can’t wait to see how they all come together.

Have other suggestions?  I’m on the prowl for a few more!
